Our philosophy is to provide our students with the highest level of administrative support possible so that students can concentrate on the demanding MLB curriculum and use the free time to get to know fellow students and enjoy the city.
Prior to the arrival in Hamburg, the MLB Program staff advises and assists students with services such as visa applications, accomodation, health insurance and banking. In April, admitted applicants receive an information package with important information prior to their arrival in Hamburg.
In order to bring non-Germans and Germans together, the MLB Program organizes a "buddy system" that pairs international MLB students with MLB alumni and Bucerius students or staff. Buddies are volunteers who are there to help make the transition of international students to Hamburg easier and help getting settled.
For non-Germans, the German buddy may be a helpful resource when there are questions about German culture, language and daily life in Germany.
We recommend all international students who plan on staying in Germany in order to look for a job after the MLB Program to learn German before coming to Hamburg. German courses are offered throughout the academic year.
