In the current issue of "Junge Karriere" both MLB partner schools WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and Bucerius Law School have been ranked best German private schools in their respective disciplines business administration and law. In total, WHU achieved the fourth rank in business administration and Bucerius the second rank in law.
The MLB program was explicitly mentioned:
"[...] Especially of interest for people in charge of HR is the one-year graduate program "Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business" which is jointly offered with WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar. The program specifically trains executives for international positions."
The Bucerius Law School and the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management launched the joint Master's program in August 2006. The Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business program aims to convey both law studies and business studies areas of knowledge in combined lectures on special topic areas. The target group consists of international students whose first degrees are primarily in law or business studies.
The Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business Program is a truly interdisciplinary study at the highest level that combines the various aspects of international business law with issues of international management.
The Graduation Ceremony for the first MLB class will be held on August 28th, 2007. The Ceremony begins at 5.00 p.m. and takes place in the Auditorium on the campus of Bucerius Law School. Following the Ceremony, a reception will be held.
In the one year MLB program, the students have completed intensive law and business course work, gained more practical experience during internships at law firms, banks, international companies, NGOs and foundations, and written a complex Master’s Thesis. For the students, the past year has also been rich in personal experiences in intercultural fields, new friendships and interesting outside activities. The two schools wish to congratulate each and every one of the graduates and welcome them to the network of Bucerius/WHU Alumni.
At the Ceremony, the new class of 2008 will also be welcomed. As with the class of 2007, the students of the class of 2008 represent many countries on five continents, speak a variety of languages, are members of numerous religious faiths and bring to the program a wide variety of outside experience.

The Live-in Week from the 1st to the 5th of May 2007 was intended to familiarize the MLB students with the WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management (our partner University in Vallender) and encourage interaction between the MLB and the WHU students. A team led by Prof. Markus Rudolf, the MLB Program Director and his assistant, Ms. Mareen Benk, organized a warm stay at WHU and made the Live-in Week a great experience. In addition to meeting individual students, MLB participants learnt about different student initiatives at WHU including conferences like the Private Equity Conference which took place in April 2007 and some community response programs like fundraisers for supporting communities in developing countries.
The trip was also a time to network and make new friends – for example, we were invited to attend the In-Praxi night (WHU alumni organisation) and at the end of the evening some students joined the club. As part of the program, two courses (Corporate Finance and Industrial Economics) were taught during the week. However students also had the chance to explore Vallender and Koblenz with its wonderful landscape and location on the Rhine. Koblenz is a home for many castles, and we were able to visit some of them. On the night of 4 May we took a tour through the Marksburg, home of the German Castles Association. We also had dinner in the „Marksburg“ - the „Rittermahl“. This was an exciting experience especially for students coming from outside Europe.
On our last day in Vallender we visited the Eltz Castle and had some time to hike through the forest passing through typical German rural towns. Many thanks to the WHU and Bucerius Team for making our stay in Vallender memorable!
