Participants in the Bucerius/WHU Master of Law and Business - Joachim Herz Program can apply for financial aid to cover tuition fees. Please note that with only few exceptions, financial assistance offered through the MLB Program usually does not cover full tuition fees or living expenses. Depending on an applicant’s individual background, there can be a number of different options for financial aid.
While partial tuition waivers or scholarships through the MLB Program are available to highly qualified applicants, financial aid cannot be provided for all deserving applicants. Funds are allocated on the basis of comparative merit and financial need. Applicants requesting financial aid are required to provide detailed and accurate information regarding their own finances, the finances of spouses/partners and, in some cases, parents. Scholarships may not be awarded if no suitable candidate applies.

Please do not contact those six institutions directly!
However, we wish to encourage you to start early, often a year in advance, in finding external scholarship or loan providers for tuition fees and living expenses. Please check below "WHU Brain Capital", "Bank Loans" or "Other Financing Options".
- Joachim Herz Stiftung Scholarships: Non-German students with a business/economics background will be considered for a Joachim Herz Fellowship.

- Krupp Scholarships: The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung scholarships are open to students with a legal background as well as a business or other background and not bound to a specific region of origin of potential applicants.
- Schürfeld Scholarships: The Gustav und Catharina Schürfeld-Stiftung provides a partial scholarship to one student from Israel and one student from an Arab country.
- Haspa Scholarships: Haspa scholarships are available for international and German students.

If we can not match candidates with a scholarship provider, the MLB Program offers some financial aid to selected students in the form of a partial tuition waiver.
Another means of financing your participation in the MLB Program is the financing concept of the WHU Brain Capital GmbH. To learn more about this concept, please click here.

The following links of scholarship providers might be of interest. Please understand that the MLB Team cannot help you with individual questions regarding external scholarship deadlines and application procedures as these are subject to change.
We wish to encourage you to check the websites carefully and determine whether you fulfill the scholarship prerequisites. Note that some scholarships are available exclusively for students with a specific academic background and/or academic merit, work experience, nationality, language skills or age. Some scholarship providers ask for political involvement or particular personal interests. Some pay living expenses, others (partial) tuition. Some include you in a network and ask you to keep in contact with the institution. Some expect you to pay money back or visit conferences, etc. Our short overview below gives you the chance to find out whether you are eligible for one of the scholarship programs. There may well be external financial assistance that meets your needs and we strongly encourage you to explore these and other possibilities.
If you wish to share your experience in the search of scholarships with us, we will be more than happy to receive your information. Good luck!

MATEUSZ KORUS, POLAND: "Without the support of an Allen & Overy scholarship I would not have been able to take part in the MLB Program. From the very beginning I have seen the support given by Allen & Overy as a big distinction for the Program attesting and acknowledging its high academic level and strong, partner-related connection with the professional world."
LIABO MOLAPO, LESOTHO, CARE INTERNATIONAL:
"I received a scholarship financed by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius and named in honour of German Federal President Horst Köhler. Through the MLB Program and an internship at the Deutsche Bank AG in Germany, I have acquired international experience. The MLB complemented my qualifications and experience in the Management of Human Resources, broadened my perspective and gave me a lead in my career by equipping me with skills to manage business as a senior manager in the organization I work for. I learned a lot about other countries through my classmates and am now part of a network of professionals."
GEORGE SVANADZE, GEORGIA, PHD STUDENT: "I came to Germany together with my wife. As we had already learned German back home, I applied to one of the German foundations, the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, for a living expenses scholarship. Luckily, I won this financial support, which was even extended after the MLB Program. I am now writing my Ph.D. at the Christian-Albrechts- Universität zu Kiel; I live with my wife - who is also a student - and my infant son in Berlin."
